It was hugely sad to hear of the recent death of beloved Scottish artist Pam Carter. Pam was a great friend of Tartan2CV and her artworks have featured in our Scotland’s Artist range for over 20 years.

Pam was an inspirational and award-winning Scottish artist, known in particular for her Scottish landscapes and seascapes. We loved her use of colour to define structure and changing light sequences, often seen in her paintings of the Western Isles and dramatic viewpoints of the eastern coastline.

We chose Pam’s beautiful painting ‘Hebridean Steading’ for the front cover of the 2023 Scotland’s Artists Wall Calendar because of her use of colour. Simply put, it’s just a fabulous oil painting.

We’re delighted that Pam’s long time partner Elaine Scott is going to continue to provide prints of Pam’s artwork, which will be available from her new website www.scottart.co.uk. We wish Elaine every success and hope too that by continuing to publish Pam’s cards we’ll also do justice to her legacy.
